SEPAG Feast and Photography Exhibition June 2006

As can be seen there was also an exhibition of images taken by photographers Beatrice Watson and Andy Smith during a five week trip to southern Ethiopia in late 2005.

The exhibition was called 'Ethiopia - The Last Forests'. The photographs illustrated both the positives and the negatives of the current situation in the region, from the thirst for education to the increasing deforestation. All the photographs will be for sale and proceeds will go to SEPAG's Library Project.

SEPAG at WOMAD

SEPAG had a great weekend at the WOMAD festival from 28-30 July. We had a stall in the One World tent - see below, behind the flags!

Business was brisk and by the end of the weekend SEPAG's team of volunteers was exhausted. Still, it was well worth it - contacts with many new people were made; hundreds were told of the economic, social and environmental situation in southern Ethiopia; details of the SEPAG library project were positively received and new donors identified; a SEPAG speaker talked for 30 minutes on the One World stage and answered many questions; a petition urging the British government to make sure aid to Ethiopia actually went to ALL ethnic groups attracted widespread support and will be submitted shortly.

Photographs below show some of the activity at the SEPAG stall.
