Library: Future Plans
The SEPAG 'House of Books' has proved such a success that we would like to increase the space available for readers, increase the number of books and provide enhanced educational facilities by constructing a purpose-built library building. Internet is not currently available in the area, but telephone communication has recently improved and it is only a matter of time before Internet access
becomes a reality. When this does happen we would like to install computers to allow local students access to this facility, which is already available elsewhere in the country. We would also like students to have access to educational CD-ROM's. Our planned building also includes space which can be used for extra educational activities. Use of the building and its books and computers will be free for all.

We intend to construct the building using locally produced clay bricks and using local labour. Our model is the building constructed by the Enat Afer project (see Enat Afer pages). As with that project the building will provide an example of using readily available building materials rather than disappearing forest timber.

The plan of our proposed building is given below. The reading room is in the centre. To the left is
the supplementary room, which could be used to accommodate readers most of the time, but which
can also be use for teaching. The room to the right has space for a computer room and accommodation for the librarian/caretaker.
